Daily Mile Track

Wallop Primary School - Hampshire

Following two years of fund raising, Fieldform were appointed by Wallop Primary School in Hampshire to construct a new running track to be used for the Daily Mile Challenge, PE lessons, inter-school competitions and sports days. Following a short delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic our site team installed a dynamic sub base covered by a specialist rubber and gravel mix creating a robust but attractive surface.

The new Daily Mile track has been constructed around several natural turf football pitches to enhance the sports facilities on offer at the School and provide wet weather provision for pupils and staff.

To open the new Daily Mile track, Fieldform arranged for current Great Britain international athlete and Olympic hopeful, Holly Mills to officially cut the ribbon and answer a number of questions from over fifty pupils of all ages.

The School are very happy with the new running track, and the children are choosing to keep on running even when they have completed their daily mile. Pupils have told their teachers the new track is very cushioned and bounces underfoot. Our grounds maintenance contractors who look after playing fields for many schools throughout Test Valley and Hampshire said it is by far the best running track installation they have seen, and were very impressed with how level it sits in the playing field.
